Over time, profits from book sales grew, along with income from membership dues and other fund-raising endeavors. With the likelihood of a new library for Waxhaw still years in the future, the Board of Directors decided to use some of the money to help the existing library.
The librarians were asked what would be most helpful in increasing their productivity. They decided on a children's computer system. So, as part of the celebration of the LAW fifth anniversary, this sorely needed equipment was purchased, and a donation to the library became an annual tradition.
